Making journaling enjoyable, not a chore?

Friends, I'm hoping for tips. I've tried repeatedly to make journaling a habit, to limited success. Over the years, I've always found it a chore. Reading, meditation, exercise etc are things I've had better success with forming into habit. But journaling is always a chore, which I find does less good for me than not doing it. Have others found something similar, and how have you addressed it ?
